Searching your lost drone for hours is stressful and even frustrating if you think you know exactly where it crashed.
This little devices take that stress away and you will fly more comfortable over corn fields or other dense areas.
My experience with the URUAV UR10.
I bought two of them as the specs and reviews looked okay.
What I like
The buzzer does its job well, it’s loud… really loud!
The button is located on the top which is better than at the side. It’s easy to turn it on and off, accompanied with a nice sound.
What I don’t like.
You have to turn the beeper on manually when turned off by yourself.
That’s not a big issue you say?
In the field:
- You connect flight battery
- Buzzer is armed
- You go flying
- You land normally
- Disconnect battery
- The beeper will start beeping within the time you have set.
- You turn off beeper.
- Start bragging about your flight to your friends.
- 2nd flight
- Excited because you are in the vibe
- Plug in battery
- Ready beeps from your quad, you have video…
- Go !!!
- Let’s do that crazy stuff again but faster.
- Damn, did not see that little branch…
- Spinning around, ending without any signal.
- Then sweat breaks out…
- Forgot to activate my beeper…
There are other beepers who turn on automatically when flight battery is connected.
Quality Check
Remember I bought two? Well the second one was behaving strange from the start.
I did not want to turn on by button. So I guessed battery is empty and not in storage level.
Charging took long, and after a few hours I stopped charging. The LED showed a bit of life when pressing the button but not much.
If it’s broken you can’t break it again right?
Conclusion
If you don’t mind to manually enable it before each flight and take the risk that Quality Control is not improved.
It’s a nice compact loud buzzer
